Hello my name is Troy Martin and I am The Geeky
Artist.
My wife and I live in Frederick, Colorado about 25 miles north of Denver on the prairie.
I’m a professional Software Architect, Mechanical Engineer, Project Manager and part-time starving artist.
My roots came out of Mechanical Engineering. I used to design HVAC systems for all kinds of buildings, even ships.
I became a master at Intergraph and AutoCAD during my ME days and that required learning a host of software applications. But after almost 14 years, I grew tired of this profession and decided to make the transition completely to information technology (IT).
In my first real IT job, I was employed as a software/hardware support engineer tasked to build and maintain systems, including networks. I also was a certified Novel Netware Engineer in 1989.
Then, in the very early 90’s, about the time Xerox was introducing Documentum, I was busy designing a network, and CAD library system for Fujitsu. This was back in the days of dBase.
Eventually I was wooed away from Fujitsu and joined Intel Corporation. As the Oregon Site Manager for the Facilities Engineering Group, I was responsible for maintaining and managing all the engineering and CAD documents for all of the Oregon site. I eventually left Intel and joined the ranks as a independent Documentum consultant working for many of the fortune 500 companies.
I have worked in just about all sectors including Finance & Insurance, Energy, Manufacturing, and Retail and Logistics.
Finally, when I am not being a geek, I enjoy fly fishing and I am a commercial (starving) artist. My passion is woodworking. If you’re interested in the non-geek side, you can see some of my other work by clicking on the menu above.
Thanks for visiting,
Troy Martin
